Cincinnati native Missy Werner grew up the daughter of two parents who played in a bluegrass band so it’s no surprise that she followed in their footsteps. She studied guitar and fiddle before settling on her instrument of choice — the mandolin — and Werner has gone on to carve out her own niche on the bluegrass circuit.

Missy Werner CDLatest full-length “Turn This Heart Around” is another winner and should appeal to anyone who loves traditional bluegrass music. Lead track “I Always Do” sets the tone, and Werner and her supporting band shine on “Main Street,” “Wish I Was,” “Travelin’ Light,” “A Song That I Love” (featuring Sierra Hull) and “Snake in the Grass.” Good stuff.
