Singer/songwriter/sulti-instrumentalist Ric Todd cut his teeth in bands like Dirty Word and writing songs for the likes of country up-and-comer Chancy Williams and rock outfit Zwarte. He and pal Tim Mahoney won the 2010 International Songwriting Competition (adult contemporary category) and Todd steps into the spotlight himself on solo debut EP “Drawing Lines.”

Ric Todd CDIt’s a high-energy collection of five tunes that whisk by in just 18 minutes. But that’s more than enough time to appreciate the gifts Todd brings to the table as both a writer and musician.

Lead single “Red Letter” lifts the lid on the EP and is the highlight of the set. Todd later scores with “New Religion,” “When It Comes Around” and “End of My Rope.” Keep your eye on this guy. He may well be on the verge of something truly special. (Jeffrey Sisk)
