Little Fevers (self-released)
4 stars out of 5
How much fun is the music of Little Fevers? This talented Minneapolis-based indie pop/rock quartet seem to be having a blast playing together on full-length debut “Field Trip” and it shows throughout the 10-track, 36-minute platter. Their catchy melodies have already earned the band comparisons to the likes of Mates of State and Vampire Weekend and the sky seems to be the limit for this bunch.
The two boy/two girl outfit is comprised of Lucy Michelle (vocals), Geoff Freeman (drums/guitar), Eamonn McLain (bass) and Ashley Bowman (synth) and Little Fevers have made an accessible first record that should appeal to just about anyone who gives it a spin.
Leadoff tune “Can’t Get Enough” is a terrific tone-setter, and Little Fevers also score with “Late Nights,” “Parties We Missed,” “Gold,” “Apple Tree” and”Bones.” As the leaves begin change colors and the temperatures begin to drop, “Field Trip” is an ideal record help keep you nice and warm. Keep an eye on this talented foursome. (Jeffrey Sisk)
