Hailing from the musical hotbed of Austin, Texas, blues/roots rock dup The Sideshow Tragedy come into their own with fifth album “Capital.” Originally a duo comprised of guitarist/vocalist Nathan Singleton and drummer Jeremy Harrell, The Sideshow Tragedy eventual swelled to four members before paring back down to basics with the founding members.
“These guys are a rockin’, bad ass two-piece band from hell,” says acclaimed “Capital” producer Kenny Siegel. “Nathan’s a great singer and a thoughtful songwriter that’s got a lot of heart and a healthy dose of punk attitude. And Jeremy plays the drums as if he has been locked in a freakin’ cave all of his life!”
That energy serves The Sideshow Tragedy well on the nine-track release. After mesmerizing with opener “Number One” and “Blacked Out Windows,” the lads stumble a bit on “Keys to the Kingdom” before righting the ship with keepers like the title track, “Two Guns’ and “Let the Love Go Down.” Rock on, fellas.
