If you haven’t see the remarkable YouTube video of then-17-year-old Dylan Gardner performing the second side of The Beatles’ “Abbey Road” in 15-second increments, you simply must check it out. Not only does the kid show enough vocal chops to hang with John, Paul, George and Ringo, he plays a different instrument in each of the vignettes. Yes, this kid has some mad skills.

Dylan Gardner CDWhich brings us to the Illinois native’s debut full-length, “Adventures in Real Time.” It’s a promising first effort filled with earnest pop tunes that pay homage to the Fab Four and the music of that long-ago era. Still just 18, Gardner penned all 10 songs on “Adventures,” and he shows a real knack for catchy melodies and infectious hooks.

Lead single “Let’s Get Started” is closing in on 4 million Spotify plays and Gardner also impresses on “I’m Nothing Without You,” “Too Afraid to Love You,” “I Think I’m Falling for Something” and “Feeling of Love.” The sky’s the limit for this talented teenager. (Jeffrey Sisk)
