Geoff Farina earned his stripes fronting alternative rock trio Karate in the mid-1990s and after the band called it quits in 2005 has remained busy in outfits as varied as Glorytellers, Ardecore and Bando. For his latest project, Exit Verse, guitarist/vocalist Farina enlisted drummer John Dugan (since replaced by Chris Dye) and bassist Pete Croke and their self-titled debut album is fantastic.

Exit Verse CDThe nine-track platter gets off to a strong start with “Under the Satellite,” “Chrome” and dynamite lead single “Seeds,” and Exit Verse later score with “Fiddle & Flame,” “Perfect Hair” and “Sparrows.” The record takes me back to my college days with its alt-rock tunes and has me looking forward to what Farina and Exit Verse come up with next.
