3.5 stars out of 5

Bay Area singer/songwriter/pianist/producer/engineer Olga Kapustina is a jack of all musical trades, having worked with the likes of Angelo Moore, Mark Foster, Diegos Umbrella, Rondo Brothers, The Soft White Sixties, Cyndi Harvell and the wonderful Andrew St. James.

Flair CDBut I think Kapustina is at her very best when making her own music under the Flair moniker. She puts her talents to great use on latest EP “Summertime Away,” an enjoyable gathering of seven tunes that deserves to be heard by as many people as possible.

“Summertime Away” gets off to a so-so start with “Getting Stronger,” but Flair soon hits her stride with “Wanted Girl,” personal favorite “Space Bomb,” “If You Really Like Me” and “Where Did Women Go” with Quinn DeVeaux. I urge you all to track down a copy of this first-rate EP. (Jeffrey Sisk)
